Only the two you pick. Choose any electric car and any petrol, diesel or CNG car and the calculator uses their real prices, mileage and your electricity tariff. It does not assume a particular vehicle.
How is the running cost worked out?+-
For the EV: real-world energy use (battery divided by range, plus a 25% real-world margin) times your electricity price. For the petrol/diesel/CNG car: the current fuel price divided by its ARAI mileage. Both give a cost per kilometre, scaled by how far you drive.
What does the ownership option add?+-
Tick it to compare lifetime cost, not just fuel. It adds each car's on-road price financed over a 5-year loan at 9.5% a year (you set the down payment), plus five years of running and maintenance cost. The result is the total you spend to own and run each car for five years.
